Beach Buggy Racing game overview & features

I love to play games on my mobile but there aren’t many games that have attracted me
that much, until I saw Beach Buggy Racing.

I like racing games, but i just don’t want plain racing games. They should have some obstacles to maneuver around or weapons to fire at  your enemies. In Beach Buggy racing I got all that.

Beach Buggy Racing is an arcade racing game. You will need tickets to race in championship and career mode. A total of 8 tickets are available and each ticket is generated in around 15 minutes. For each race win you will get one 1 ticket and gems.

There are a total of 8 cars and 10 drivers to choose from, and each car and driver has their own special power. The following four parameters of a car can be upgraded:

    1. acceleration,
    2. top speed,
    3. handling,
    4. strength.

The cars have further been divided into the power that they posses.  You will initially start with a 100cc car then a 250cc, 500cc and so on.

The cars can be purchased by using coins but the drivers are unlocked when you beat them in the career mode.

    Game modes

    There are four main modes:
    – Split Screen.
    – Quick Race.
    – Championships.
    – Career.
In split screen you can race with your friends, disable all ads and have infinite
tickets.  You will have to pay $4.99 to unlock this mode.

Locked events in the career mode

In Quick Race you have four options. Race with 100cc, 250cc, 500cc or 1000cc car.
You will have to have 250cc, 500cc or 1000cc car to race in those events.  In this mode tickets are not required to race but if you win you will get coins and one ticket. This is good way to get tickets and earn money when you are stuck in the career mode.
In Championship mode each car has four has its own championships and it is further divided into four  categories i.e 100cc, 250cc, 500cc and 1000cc. As explained earlier you will need to have a car 250cc, 500cc or 1000cc car to race in each championship but in championship mode there is point system and you will
need tickets to race in this event. In 100cc there are four races, in 250cc there are 6 races, in 500cc there are 8 races and in 1000cc there are 10 races.

A car available in the game

After all the races if you have the most points then you will win the championship and get coins and gems. You will get stars in champions. If you win then you will get 3 stars, second place holder will get 2 stars and third will get 1 star. Championships can be repeated to earn money but are only awarded for the first time.

In career mode there are 7 series. Once again you will need tickets to race in these events. Each series has multiple events. You will get 3 stars if you win a race. Stars are required to unlock next events. At the end of the series you have to beat a driver to unlock new series. During races you will get powers and each has its own usage which is very useful during the race.

You will encounter four types of races in these event. First is basic racing in which you to beat your opponents in 2 laps. Second is time attack, in this race in about every 10-15s the driver in last position is eliminated. Third is shooting gallery, in this you will have shoot rockets at cars or targets to get points and achieve the required points to get the stars. You will have one minute to complete the points. Fourth is stampede, you will use angry bull power to smash everything in your path, same as shooting gallery you have to get points by hitting cars or targets.

    Problems that i found

This game is as perfect as it can be, but i do have one issue with it. Strength is useless in this game. No matter how much you upgrade your car will be destroyed when powers like rocket, angry bull or any other powers like these are used on you by the enemies.

    Conclusion

I really enjoyed playing Beach Buggy Racing and it is very addicting, and i do not want to put down my device at all. I highly recommend for those who want to have a fun time.

  • Transmission Game Review

    Raising awareness along the way

As you may have noticed i really like to play puzzle games. Once such game which i found goes by the name of Transmission. Transmission has been built by the Science Museum and we can see that they have made more games which revolve around science and technology aiming to teach about them.

The game’s main aim is to create networks and to connect nodes to send information from one node to the next.

    Features of Transmission

The game starts from the technology of olden times, the telegraph, then goes to the telephone, satellite and the next gen communication networks.

The player has to find ways to connect all of the nodes to form a network. There are bonus objectives which further restrict how the player can create the network, but completing them gives the player more points(stars in this game’s case).

Like all puzzle games the player has to think ahead on how to solve the puzzle. Visualization is the skill which is needed for this game, being able to visualize what the next move will be and what the resulting state of the game will be.

    Transmission Game Review

    Connecting the network

What i like about this game is how seamlessly it has designed and linked with communication technologies. Nodes can be of different types, those which either send or receive information and also can broadcast to other nodes at the same time. It is quite interesting to see how all these components work together to form networks. One also realizes how amazing technology really is. Even though the game is an abstract version of what networks really are, but Transmission still gives an idea of how hard it is to create networks so that optimum paths are made.

The art is simple and professionally made, with the smooth soothing music playing in the background do not distract the player from the game.

    Conclusion

I really liked playing Transmission, i will surely be playing more games from Science Museum and may even write a review on them. I highly recommend this game for all.

  • Leo’s Fortune Adventure Game Review

Leo’s Fortune Is One Of A Kind Adventure Game

Leo’s fortune is an adventure game in which you are a cute fur of ball who has gotten his fortune stolen and are now on an adventure to retrieve it. You as Leo have suspicions that your relatives are the ones who have robbed you of your wealth.
This game is a paid game and it costs for 2.49 euros(at the time of writing this review) from Google Play Store and there are no in app purchases which you can make, which means you only have to pay once to play the complete game.
    Leo's Fortune Adventure Game Review

Leo thinking what move to make next

You travel through different lands collecting your wealth one coin at a time.
You also have to overcome obstacles and solve which make the game that much more difficult.
The game is quite difficult to play as the controls are a bit unorthodox. In the touch technique  as you have to slide your left thumb of finger what ever you prefer left and right to move Leo. With your right thumb or finger or what ever you prefer  slide them up to blow up Leo with air and float in the air while sliding down will I’ve Leo down.
These controls take some time to getting used to, but once you become used to them they become easy to use.
The game also provides with buttons, but I prefer the sliding controls.

    Difficulty of the obstacles

The obstacles in the game are quite challenging and took me quite a number of tries to get past. As the game progresses the difficulty level increases typical of any game.

The objectives of the game are also quite difficult. You win a star if you complete the level within 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

    Art & Graphics

The art of the game has been professionally made and looks quite realistic. The development company mentions that the levels have been hand crafted, and yes they are beautiful. The environment suits to the game and so does the audio music and sound effects. They have been well made as well.
The controls are smooth and responsive which further help the game play. Once you get used to the controls the controls become second nature.
The story of the game is also interesting and once wants to continue playing the game to find out what happened.
Another good thing that I like is that there are checkpoints in the game from where you can continue to play the game of you die. However I would have likes if I could save the game where I left it. If I quit a level all progress in that level is lost. I have no choice of either completing the level or minimizing the game which may eat up your battery.
It would have been better if the developers  would have added a save feature. There are obstacles where it took me quite a long time to overcome and then comes another obstacle which I am not able to overcome and want to take a break as I it becomes exhausting eventually.

Other than this the game is pretty good and I recommend it. If you are willing to pay some money to buy the game, and want to have a great gaming experience then the should check out Leo’s fortune for android.

  • Shadow Fight 2 Fighting Game

As far as fighting games go, nothing can beat the all ruling Tekken, but there is one game, which is just as good as Tekken was in its hay day. The game that i will be writing about is called Shadow Fight 2.

What Is The Story Of The Character in Shadow Fight 2?

In Shadow Fight 2 the character was once an invincible warrior, travelling the land searching for a worthy warrior. On his travels he finds a portal which he opens and releases demons out into the world. In the process the character is stripped of his human body and is left with a shadow of a body, hence the name Shadow Fight. The character now has to fight the demons that he has freed.

What Are The Features Of The Game?

The player has to build up his character and make him strong and worthy enough to fight against the demons and their cronies. The player can also purchase better clothing, equipment, spells (magic), head gear, learn new moves, and much much more.

Furthermore, the player can earn money by either taking part in tournaments which pay more, but the opponents are stronger and more well trained, while the other way is to fight for survival where the player fights one round after the other against different opponents until he dies.

The audio quality of the game is superb, with correctly timed sound effects and the music with Chinese and Japanese origins.

The graphics have been well made and are in 2D as the game is essentially a 2D game.

The game play is quite good, though on some Android smart phones/tables you may have to set the settings of the graphics level to low or the game will be slow to respond. I had to do this, and then the game played smoothly, while a friend of mine plays with high settings and he does not face any sluggish performance.

Shadow Fight 2 employs the time out mechanism where after a number of fights you have to wait for your energy to regenerate. You can skip this by paying gems.

The store in the game depends on what level you are and as you progress in the game are new items made available for purchase.

    My Recomendations

Like all things this game can too be improved. On the game play side this game has everything down to an art form, and i find it to be perfect. The development team can add more to the story, maybe add some cut scenes which tell about the history of the user. To me if i am playing a game i want a good story line, or i will get bored. If a game does not have a strong story line then the game play has to be exceptionally well in order to keep the player keep playing.

Even though there is a story line, but it is not visited as much as it should be. Like said earlier maybe the characters history and past can be told other than the cut scene shown in the opening of the game. I for one would like to see the character develop emotionally as well, even though all that is left of him is his shadow, but then as the shadow is learning to get stronger, we should be able to relate with him as well. Why is the shadow even trying to fight against the demons. Why does he not just leave them be? Does the shadow think that he will get back his human body once he defeats the demons? We can only find these out by playing the game which i highly recommend.

  • Bird Ninja – Jungle Fever Flying Bird Game

I like playing games and when i find an interesting game i tend to spend some time playing it. Usually in a game i look for a good story if it has one, good game play and there must be that x factor which makes me come back to the game again and again.

We all heard of the famous game Flappy Bird flying bird game which earned the developer of the game a lot of hate by the players because the game was really difficult, but it really did well as well as i believe that game hit a personal chord of the players that how dare the game not let them win. This ego damaging aspect is quite interesting to see in games. I had that game installed on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2, but unfortunately the phone died on me and also the developer pulled the game off Google Play Store. I went looking for a game similar to Flappy Bird and found a game by the name of Bird Ninja -Jungle Fever  flying bird game.

The game play is not as difficult as Flappy Bird, but it still demands the player’s full concentration as you have to take split second decisions to prevent the bird from crashing into oncoming objects such as planes, and other birds.

Each level has a certain objective which the player has to achieve in order to complete the level. In this game it is collecting coins. I have not been able to find any other use case in this game where the coins are being used. I recommend that the developer incorporate a store which allows the player to buy upgrades which gives the bird special powers.

I also noticed that in this game there is no time out feature where in a game that i regularly play and have also reviewed Two Dots in which you have a maximum of 5 lives and each life takes a set time to regenerate, so if you loose all of your lives then you have to wait for a minimum time as set by the game before you can actually play it.

Psychology also helps us understand that giving the player breaks actually helps keep the game interesting and brings the player back for more, while games in which the player plays for a long time without any breaks then eventually the player will get burned out and will get bored of the game.

I also suggest that the developer weave a story into the game, which can further make a game interesting.

The graphics of the playing level are attractive and look well made. The animation is smooth and i did not find any jerks in animation which spoil the experience. However, the graphics for the menu screen and the pause menu can be further improved as at the moment they look too bland and dead.  Maybe if the developer adds some animation on the menu screen it will look good.

To conclude, i like the game and would recommend other to play, and this game can definitely get better and more interesting if the developer follows our advice given above.
